§ 01
An initiative convened by the Global LegalTech Hub
A shared commitment for the future of law.
One text, to be written live in front of the global legal community at the launch event on 7 October 2026 — and open, from that day on, to every signature that follows.
Aligned with UN SDG 16 — Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
§ 02
The Legal Manifesto
The Legal Manifesto is being written in public, together with the people who work every day at the intersection of law and technology, and it remains open to improvement and to the signature of anyone who shares its commitments.
What is it?
It is a collective declaration on how law and technology should relate to each other in the years ahead. It is convened by the Global LegalTech Hub, but it does not belong to any firm, company, university, or country. It starts from a simple observation: artificial intelligence, data that knows no borders, and new client expectations are transforming the legal profession faster than any single actor can manage on its own.
What does it aim to achieve?
The goal is to put in writing a set of shared principles that can serve as a reference for the entire sector. At the center is the person: the citizen, the client, the end user. All the other ideas revolve around them. The first is that access to justice and the right to a fair outcome are the true measure of progress. The second is that the legal ecosystem works best when it is open and connects law firms, companies, startups, universities, and institutions. The third is that it is possible to compete hard while building common ground together, such as standards, a shared language, and trust. The fourth is that technology must be used responsibly and transparently.
The project is aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 16 of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, which is dedicated to peace, justice, and strong institutions.
How is it being written?
On October 5, 2026, teams made up of professionals from law firms, in-house legal departments, universities, and institutions will work on the major trends that are reshaping the sector.
On October 7, on the main stage of GLTHDAY, the principles will be presented to the sector, the proposals will be brought together, and the final manifesto will be written live, with the participation of the audience.
The manifesto will not close the event. It will be the starting point for what comes next.
How can you take part?
By signing. At legalmanifesto.org, you can join as an individual or on behalf of your organization.
Every registered individual signature can appear on the public wall of signatories when it is published; organizations are reviewed before display. Signing is a symbolic act: it carries no legal or financial obligation, only the public commitment to stand by these principles.
You can also join us on October 7 or share the manifesto within your professional network. The more voices take part, and the more diverse they are, the more representative the result will be.
§ 03
Trends by silo
The map places the end user at the center of the ecosystem. Around that center, four silos organize the trends the community is watching — read them as one reef, not four islands.

Every registered signatory receives the signatory badge — for websites, decks, profiles and email signatures. Wear it as reefs are built: one small, visible act at a time.
§ 08
What signing means
Signing is a public statement of support for the principles of The Legal Manifesto. It creates no fees, no legal duties and no obligations — it registers your name in a shared commitment and can add it to the public signatories wall. What you do with that commitment is up to you: connect, communicate, co-create.
Anyone in the legal ecosystem — practitioners, technologists, students, academics, public servants and allies. Individuals sign in their own name, with any valid email address. One signature per person.
Yes. Use the organization track in the Sign section. A person authorized by the organization registers it using a corporate email address (free-provider addresses are not accepted for organizational signatures). Organizational signatures are deduplicated by corporate email, and the organization signs in its own name and under its own responsibility.
No. The Legal Manifesto is an open, non-commercial initiative convened by the Global LegalTech Hub, an international non-profit. Signing is free and will remain free.
Your data is stored securely and used only to register, manage and display your signature where applicable. Every signature is deduplicated by email address, and a notification email is sent for your records. Processing follows the GDPR: you can request access, correction or deletion, and withdraw your signature consent at any time. See the privacy notice for details.
Yes, at any time. Contact us from the email you signed with and your name — or your organization's — will be removed from the wall and from our records, in line with the privacy notice.
